Friday 12th February 2016, our first concert of the year – this time with a Valentine’s theme. The concert was entitled “Love Is All Around“, and John put together a programme of songs around the theme of love (which isn’t the same thing as a programme of all love-songs), including the return to our repertoire of the traditional Welsh love song Myfanwy.
The choir’s performance was interspersed with Nigel Morgan and Jeff Humphreys doing poetry readings, and our guest artistes for the night, husband and wife duo Tony and Sally Kingsbury – known as “The Kingsburys” – performing a selection of songs from theatre and stage shows. Both Tony and Sally performed excellent solo spots plus a beautiful duet to finish.
