Thursday evening saw the Choir journey to Aberdare House in Cardiff to give a pre-dinner concert to delegates at the International Conference of Paediatrics and Palliative Care for Children.
Due to a recent illness, our Conductor John Asquith was unable to be with us this evening so conducting duty was taken over by our accompanist Roz Evans – as well as playing the piano!
The Choir performed a selection of items to entertain the conference delegates prior to their conference dinner. As there were delegates present from all four of the United Kingdom home nations, our performance of The Isles Of Britain Medley – an arrangement put together by John and Roz comprising 2 verses of Jerusalem, 2 verses of Ireland’s Call, 2 verses of Flow’r O’ Scotland, and all 3 verses of Cwm Rhondda – was particularly well received.
The delegates enjoyed our concert so much that we weren’t allowed to leave without giving an encore, and a recent addition to our repertoire, Yr Anthem Geltaidd, was selected by Roz to close our performance.
Special thanks go to our accompanist Roz Evans for undertaking both accompanist and conductor roles for this concert.
