Today the choir travelled to the Pencoed House estate in Capel Llanilltern to sing at the wedding of Craig Davies and Anwen Thomas.
As a special request by the Bride, instead of the more usual Bridal March, Anwen walked down the aisle as the Choir sang I Can’t Help Falling In Love With You (‘Wise Men Say Only Fools Rush In‘), originally performed by Elvis Presley in the film Blue Hawaii.
The Choir then sang a few nore songs during the ceremony while Anwen and Craig were signing the register, including the ever popular The Rose, and another special request, You’ll Never Walk Alone (from the show Carouselle), chosen because Craig is a Liverpool supporter. After the ceremony they walked back up the aisle arm in arm as Husband and Wife to the Choir singing the popular Beatles song, All You Need Is Love.
After the ceremony, the Choir performed a selection of songs from our repertoire to entertain the wedding guests outdoors while the wedding party were having their photographs taken.
As can be seen from our own photos, Craig and Anwen were lucky with the weather for their wedding. It was a warm and sunny day as the Choir sang al fresco during the official photographs.
Anwen has a family connection with Côr Meibion Morlais. Her grandfather, Dave Thomas, now sadly passed away, was a former Morlais Chorister in our Top Tenor section.
We would like to thank Craig and Anwen for allowing us to be part of their special day, and we wish them both a Long and Happy Future Together.
